About Us
At the heart of Caravelli can be found the team of Massimo Torre and Luigi Borriello.
Having taken over the restaurant, both Massimo and Luigi aim to carry on and develop Caravelli to become the choice for Italian food and hotel stay in Loughborough.
The Old Manor was ripe for rejuvenation and, after months of planning, restoration, and plain old hard work, Caravelli Italian Restaurant opened its doors for business in March 2010.
At Caravelli you will find a traditional full service Italian restaurant with wide ranging menus covering everything from pasta dishes to seafood and meat prepared and presented in authentic Italian style.
The Old Manor is well known for being one of the oldest buildings in Loughborough, with the recent discovery of a stone fireplace indicating it was originally built in the mid-fourteenth century. The building has a fine Swithland slate roof and a central gable facing the road through which the original front door would have run.
It is beautifully set on the edge of Loughborough’s Churchgate heritage area overlooking the tree lined streets around the Parish Church, Rectory Place and Sparrow Hill.
The character of the building and its wonderful setting add to the ambience you’ll enjoy during your meal.
Throw in a little “buzz” from our predominantly Italian staff busily preparing and delivering your fabulous food, and you’ll find Caravelli provides everything you need for a great Italian style dining experience!
We also have a fully licenced and extensive bar to help you celebrate those special occasions too!
